The Countdown Begins! Are You Ready?

Do me a favor, will you please?

Take a moment and check today’s date.

Now think about New Year’s Eve last year.

I know! So fast!

Ok, now remember this feeling and think about the date a year from today.

The date a year from now is Election Day.

While every election is about the future, I don’t have to tell you why this one is particularly important.

Here’s what I’ll be working toward over the next 365 (or fewer, depending on when you read this) days.

• Voter registration and engagement
• Participation in primaries and local elections
• Increasing proximity to the democratic process
• Expanding perspectives beyond the personal or the individual
• • For example, cautioning against one-issue voting
• Education around context and systems
• Sharing personal stories that show why politics matters and how it is connected to everything we touch
• Increasing our sense of agency
• Making politics communal (#Commit2Five!)

What do you think about when you read this list? What would you like to see happen over the next year? What are your priorities (other than defeating Trump/Pence) for the 2020 election?

Some of these goals are very straightforward, while others will take more creativity. Either way, I’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas!

Let me know! Maybe we can work together!
