Is it lying if I...?

Dilbert

I read a book recently called How to Lie With Statistics, and it got me thinking about all of these “data driven decisions” many of us are expected to make these days. We know that not all data is created equal, so what would you do if you were tasked with using data you knew was bad (but others thought was good) to make a persuasive argument?

Would you be lying if you used it?
